What is Pilates?
Pilates is a remarkable form of exercise developed by a true genius from the world of body work, Joseph Pilates. It is a physical training program based on the body in its most natural state-in-motion. Pilates is also an art form, similar to martial arts or dance, whose practice can lead to a level of physical perfection seldom found in other forms of exercise. Pilates is a program which can be precisely tailored to the needs of each individual and whose positive effects will last a lifetime. Pilates strengthens and tones muscles, develops a strong body core, improves posture, provides flexibility and balance, and ultimately unites the mind, body, and soul. Pilates is all of these things but the only way to appreciate all that Pilates has to offer is by experiencing it first hand. Our dedicated staff of certified instructors, led by nationally renowned Pilates Teacher Trainer, Kimberlie Birdwell, are eager to introduce you to the world of Pilates.
